Starting his career at Vidal Sassoon, Andrew is a hair salon owner with more than 20 years experience. He is the creator of his self-titled brand of wigs, ADWigs®, volunteers cutting/styling wigs at the American Cancer Society, and sponsors FreeWigsForKids.org. Andrew and has been featured on NYMag.com, VH1, The Rachele Ray Show, Impractical Jokers, Ambush, Faking It, Glam Lab and Inside Edition.
Andrew started his career cutting hair at Vidal Sassoon and assisted Louis Licari, the “King of Color”, where he perfected his eye for color. He also styled hair at Manhattan’s Fashion Week (“7th on 6th”) and London Academy, and worked extensively with fashion stylist guru Sam McKnight for Italian Vogue and Harpers Bazaar. After leaving the main stream “salon scene”, Andrew started his own salon and makeup studio, DiSimone Studio, in the West Village. Combining these two concepts, Andrew created his signature brand of hair and makeup called FaceStation which quickly became known for great hair, talented stylists and makeup classes, and has been featured on NYMag.com, VH1, The Rachele Ray Show, Impractical Jokers, Ambush, Faking It, Glam Lab and Inside Edition.
In 2013, Andrew rebranded the salon to it’s current name, HairPlaceNYC. Located on the East Side, HairPlaceNYC is a down-to-earth salon with a mix of soothing warm tones, friendly and talented stylists and wonderful clients. Andrew is also the creator of his self-named brand of wigs, ADWigs, with a special line for those with medical hair loss.
Outside of the walls of the salon, Andrew volunteers cutting and styling wigs at the American Cancer Society’s NYC Hope Lodge, and sponsors FreeWigsForKids.org. Andrew also enjoys teaching other hair salon owners how to run a successful salon.
