Elise Cole is a New York City hair stylist with almost 40 years in the hair industry; she has worked for Vidal Sassoon, and is currently at HairPlaceNYC, a top hair salon in Manhattan.
On the side, Elise is an artist, working with her hands a lot. If not cutting, coloring or styling hair, she’s spinning yarn or doing art! She can take wool from a sheep, and turn it into yarn… it’s magic. Elise recently crocheted and sold a Mermaid tail blanket; all the money she makes from art is donated to Free Wigs for Kids, a non-profit program that provides wigs to children suffering from medical hair loss. Not only do they provide free wigs, they cut, color and style the wigs at no charge.
Elise has worked for me, on-and-off for the past 20 years”, said Andrew DiSimone, owner of HairPlaceNYC. “She is an amazing hair stylist. Her clients love her, and we appreciate that she uses her passion for art and knowledge of business to help kids in need of wigs. Elise is truly a special person.”
Elise chose to be a hair stylist to help people celebrate their life by making them look and feel great. She has been a hairdresser for 39 years, with clients dating back to the beginning. Originally, she wanted to get into special effects, but found her true calling as a hairdresser – a special effects artist for the individual. Andrew DiSimone, the salon’s owner inspires Elise to be an artist with her very own style.
