How To: Care for your Wig

We recommend washing your wig approximately every 15 wears. Before washing your wig, gently brush it with a wide-tooth comb or brush, starting at the ends and working your way slowly up. Rinse the wig under water by holding it from the top; repeat until the wig is completely rinsed. Use a towel to blot-dry the hair; DO NOT rub, brush or comb to prevent knotting.

Human Hair: Gently mix 2 capfuls of argan oil shampoo in warm water until sudsy.

Synthetic: Gently mix 2 capfuls of kera smooth shampoo in cool water until sudsy.

Human Hair: Place wig on a towel. Apply argan oil conditioner to the ends with a wide-tooth comb, continuing up the hair shaft to within 2″ of the scalp. Rinse repeatedly until conditioner is rinsed out completely. CAUTION: Too much conditioner on root area may make knots slip.

Synthetic: Hold your wig and spray it with leave-in conditioner (just 2-4 pumps). Then place wig on a wig stand and let dry overnight. DO NOT rinse the conditioner out; let it air dry naturally.

After washing your wig, blot-dry the hair with a towel while holding your wig. Do not wring or twist the hair to prevent matting. Place your wig on a wig stand and ensure the wig is level left to right. Then, part the hair the way you want to see it lay on your head when the wig dries.

We recommend letting your wig air dry overnight before styling.

Human Hair: Style your wig as you would your own hair. Then apply desired hair products, such as wig shines, hair sprays and gels, but remember, less is more.

Synthetic: DO NOT USE HEATED STYLING TOOLS! The hair will bounce back to its original shape and texture after it dries. Apply desired hair products, such as wig shines, hair sprays and gels.

Heat Resistant Synthetic: Apply leave-in spray conditioner daily with a wide-tooth comb from the bottom up. DO NOT pull hard on knotted hair. Styling tools must NOT BE HOTTER than 250°.

Hold the wig upside down from the nape area with two thumbs on each side of the label. Raise wig up to your head as if hooking the front of the wig onto your eyebrows. Then, gently pull wig over the top of your head and release. Adjust hairline height by placing 4 fingers across your forehead, up from the brow bone. Adjust the left/right sides until the wig is level. Gently style as needed.

For a more secure application, we recommend using a wig cap, wig grip and/or wig tape tabs.
